Fred 2009 Winner- Brenda Sorrell

Brenda Sorrell makes a difference in the lives of Montgomery County students who ride her bus each day. Cognizant of the fact that she is the first person students see each morning and the last school contact they have before going home, Sorrell works to ensure children arrive at school prepared to learn.  She builds relationships with each of her students and often spends nonworking hours removing barriers to learning. She works tirelessly to find solutions for the daily challenges children face, but also helps them survive life changing events such as divorce, imprisoned parents, illness, and even hunger.
