September 14, 2010, for EDEV Module #2: Grounds for Employee Discipline:
During this session, participants survey the reasons why administrators or supervisors must often take or initiate disciplinary action against employees. For each of these acts of employee misconduct or lack of professional competence, consideration is given to the impact of the offense on campus safety and/or school climate - and ultimately student achievement. Along the way, participants also examine the role of important federal or state statutes, Governing Board policies, and the negotiated agreement in establishing valid and enforceable grounds for employee discipline within a comprehensive and defensible Code of Employee Conduct.
