November 10, 2009   *  9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Bluegrass Ballroom, Lexington Center

The Essential Question: How do I transform my school into an effective 21st Century Community?

The Outcomes:  Participants will

  • Understand how 21st Century Learning Community will differ from the  20th Century School

  • Understand how such crucial 21st Century skills as critical and creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication and the information, media and technology skills are for important for today’s students

  • Develop ways of introducing my school community to the concepts, practices and values of the 21st Century Learning Community

The Learning Model:  An inquiry mini-project.

Participants will investigate the differences between a 20th Century School and a 21st Century Learning Community  as they focus on how to integrate the skills of critical and creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration and communication into already established best practices of effective teaching and learning.
