KASA continues to explore the potential of using the power of the web to deliver powerful professional development opportunities to Kentucky educators.
We are collaborating with JK Thomas & Associates to provide web based programs for educators. These web based programs are
-
inexpensive,
-
provide credit opportunities for participants
-
high quality – received favorable reviews
-
convenient – available 24/7
We believe that as we get familiar with these programs and teachers and school leaders get more acquainted with the procedures – this will become an extremely useful tool.
How it Works
Educators can access these programs from almost any computer and only need high speed internet. Programs require participants to answer questions and we can authenticate participation and understanding and can provide authentication in order to award credit.
eSeminars are web based sessions that have been recorded and are available for use whenever the user wants to have access. Participants are connected to the presentation by their computer screen and audio.
Users are given a password - click into the session to get the video part of the presentation and audio portion.
When participants use an ONDEMAND eSeminar they receive a password that entitles them to unlimited access for a specific amount of time (often an entire school year). Users may view it when they choose and as many times as they wish. Sessions can be stopped and started up again in the place where left off.
Users are required at various stages of each presentation to answer multiple choice questions that determine that the participant is engaged in the presentation. At the completion of the program, the user submits a request for completion and receives authentication that they have completed the program. KASA will then mail the user an EILA certificate.
