Do you know . . .
- new and experienced Teacher Standards (KRS156.557) have been combined, some of the related criteria have been altered, and a accompanying rubric has been developed;
- ISLLC 2008 is being adopted by EPSB and the performance criteria for each standard has been changed to “functions;”
- how these changes can be adopted and implemented at the local level and used to positively impact student achievement;
- to use the evaluation process to focus on continuous improvement; and
- the potential the evaluation process has to impact student achievement?
Participants will be introduced to recent changes to both teacher and administrator (ISLLC) standards and will explore how these changes can be implemented to positively impact student achievement; will examine key truths about effective teaching based on the research of Mike Rutherford and others and then make connections to the revised standards; and will provide useful tools and templates to “jump start” the local planning process.
