2011-12 Focus - Effective Leadership for Next Generation Learning
KLA will return to its original mission for 2011-12. Rather than acting as a formal arm of the networks, KLA will provide a supporting role by comple- menting and extending the work.
Each cadre session will include three focus areas:
Segment One
Effective Leadership Requires Advocacy
-
Day 1: Advocacy for Next Generation Learners
-
Day 2: Advocacy for Next Generation Teachers
-
Day 3: Advocacy for Next Generation School Communities
-
Day 4: Advocacy for Next Generation Leaders
Segment Two
Mini-PLCs (organized around participant self-selected needs)
Segment Three
Current Network content delivered through a leadership lens
Cadre Presenters
Leading the learning at our cadre sessions will be Marilyn Altman. Marilyn will attend the Leadership Network planning and training design sessions to enable her to keep current with the focus of the networks and design the cadre sessions to support that work. Also contributing to each cadre session will be the regional math and ELA content network specialists.
Joining the KLA team this year will be Char Williams, Curriculum Coordinator from Jessamine County, who brings her strong knowledge base in assessment and instruction to our planning. Char will work closely with the KLA design team and will help facilitate some of the cadre sessions.
