Everything you need to know about the REVISED Redbook & Audits
This session is designed to educate school and district administrators, finance office staff, booster club parents, PTA parents, volunteers, and anyone dealing with activity funds, of the upcoming significant changes made to the newly revised Accounting Procedures for Kentucky School Activity Funds that will become effective July 1, 2013. This new version of the Redbook provides more specific guidance to almost every aspect of activity fund accounting and establishes new guidance in areas not mentioned in previous versions. This updated version also contains expanded definitions, a list of allowable and unallowable expenditures and an appendix that will be very helpful to school and district administrators. This session will also provide information to help districts prepare for an audit.

About the Presenter:
Mr. Ron Flannery is known statewide for his expertise in the field of school accounting. He works with school districts year-round by providing training to school leaders and finance support staff. He has worked in over 150 Kentucky school districts providing training, auditing and school activity fraud investigations. In addition, he assists the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and the Kentucky Department of Education to certify school administrators in the area of school finance.
