Welcome to the 2026 KWEL Cohort

Dear 2026 KWEL Cohort Member,

Congratulations, and welcome to the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership (KWEL) Cohort of 2026. You are joining a distinguished community of women leaders committed to learning, lifting others, and leading with purpose across Kentucky. We are honored to have you as part of this year’s cohort and look forward to supporting your leadership journey.

Your KWEL experience will begin at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Complimentary on-site parking is available for all attendees.

Opening Day – January 28, 2026

9:00–11:30 a.m. ET – Cohort Orientation
Location: Crown Ballroom
We will begin with an orientation designed to introduce you to the program, fellow cohort members, and your support team for the year ahead.
Lunch Provided
A complimentary lunch will be served for all cohort participants and female superintendents from across the Commonwealth.
1:00 p.m. ET – Opening Session & Induction Ceremony
This special ceremony marks the official beginning of your KWEL journey.
Breakout Sessions
Following the opening program, you will participate in focused breakout sessions designed to engage, connect, and inspire.
6:00 p.m. ET – General Session, Dinner, Keynote & Reception
The evening general session includes dinner, an inspiring keynote speaker, and a reception as we celebrate the launch of this year’s Forum and cohort.

Day Two – January 29, 2026

Role Group Discussions During Breakfast
Meet with leaders in roles like your own to build connections and share insights.
9:00 a.m. ET – Closing Session
We will conclude the Forum with a special message from our KASA director, Dr. Rhonda Caldwell, and an inspirational message that will invigorate you professionally and personally.
11:30 a.m. ET – Adjournment

Your Yearlong KWEL Experience

Throughout the year, you will continue to grow and connect through a series of leadership learning opportunities, including:

  • Monthly 1:1 Mentoring – Personalized mentoring with an experienced Kentucky leader.
  • The Leadership Challenge – March 13 at the KASA Training Center in Frankfort.
  • Special Recognition at the KASA Annual Leadership Institute – Cohort members will be recognized during this statewide event.
  • Just-in-Time Learning Webinars – Delivered in April, September, and November, focused on timely leadership topics relevant to your work.

We are thrilled to welcome you into the KWEL network, a powerful sisterhood of women committed to shaping the future of education in Kentucky. Your leadership matters, and we look forward to an impactful year together.
