This year’s KASA Legislative Drive-In Day is scheduled for February 26, during National Public Schools Week.
The General Assembly will be very busy with committee meetings and competing advocacy efforts. Participants are encouraged to schedule meetings with legislators as early as possible.
The primary goal of Legislative Drive-In Day is for legislators to hear directly from their local school leaders on important education issues.
8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Arrive & Check-In (Annex Cafeteria, Basement)
8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Meetings with Legislators (Senate-2nd Floor of Annex, House-3rd & 4th Floor of Annex)
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Senate Education Meeting (Annex Room 154)
11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. Lunch (Annex Room 125)
2:00 p.m. House and Senate will convene (Visitors can view the House via video in rooms 149 & 169, Senate via video in rooms 154 & 171)
2:30 p.m. Proclamation Signing (Education Center Building)
3:00 p.m. Drive-In Day Concludes
